This site was launched in February of 2007 when there was speculation that Labatt's purchase of Lakeport was for the purpose of closing the brewery to reduce low-priced competition. On March 30, 2010 it became reality. The plant is closing leaving 143 families without income.

There are two prominent truths about beer drinkers: They are loyal to their brand and they cling tightly to principles.
